Hammer Bro was originally planned to be playable in Mario Kart Wii along with Koopa Paratroopa, Petey Piranha and a Mii Outfit C (which in turn would have marked his debut as a playable character in the Mario Kart series), but was taken out of the final game. In Mario Kart: Super Circuit, a single Hammer Bro can be seen at the awards ceremony at the end of a Grand Prix alongside other characters.
